I created a personalised artwork for my brother’

I created a personalised artwork for my brother’s birthday; these images feature the word “Falcon”. I used his actual license plate number in the final product. It took me considerable time to develop the idea and design, and I had to modify it on the fly. As with any project, there were challenges, and sometimes you may feel like giving up. I know it can sometimes feel like you’re burning through money with no end in sight on some projects you do. However, it was essential to take a step back and remember why you started in the first place. The end goal is always nice, but the journey there is just as important. I learned so many different techniques on this project. The result was just a bonus. Happy Birthday, Brother Ricky!

Mix Media: Laser engraved and cut, hand-painted 3mm wood glued onto glass, layered white and red coloured heavy paper in the background and behind the glass. Environmentally friendly frame is made from 80% recycled materials. Around 360mm square.

I am working on a new art piece, and I aim to complete it by Sunday. At this stage, I am performing a test cut and fitting. The piece is a mixed media project featuring a Madonna vinyl placed in the bottom left corner, specifically on the right shoulder. The artwork will consist of vinyl and wooden text.
